  • Measuring Your Blinds Is a Breeze – Here’s What You Need

    1. Tape measure
    2. Pencil or pen
    3. Paper

    Before You Start

Accurate measurements ensure your blinds fit perfectly and are easy to install. Taking the time to measure correctly means the blinds will hang snugly in the frame.

⚠️ WATCH OUT FOR ANY OBSTACLES

Check for things that might interfere with your blinds, like door handles or tilt-and-turn windows.

Measuring Blinds for a Recessed or Inside Fit (Between the Walls)

    1. Find the smallest width

Measure the frame width at three different points. Use the smallest measurement and subtract 10 millimeters.

    2. Find the Longest Height

Measure the frame height at three different spots. Use the longest measurement and subtract 10 millimeters.

    3. Use These Measurements

Enter these two adjusted measurements (in millimeters) when ordering your Mr. Jealousy blinds. We will custom-make your blinds to these exact dimensions.

Measuring blinds for Face or Outside Fit (On the Frame)

    1. Add 10cm to the Width

For a balanced look, make your blinds 10cm wider than the window. Simply add 10cm to the window’s width.

    2. Add Stack Height to the Height*

Measure from the bottom to the top of the window frame. Then add the stack height (the height of the top box plus the fully raised blinds) to this measurement.

    3. Enter These Measurements

Use these two measurements (in millimeters) when ordering your Mr. Jealousy blinds. We’ll custom-make them to fit exactly.

    ⚠️ CHECK THE STACK HEIGHT
Make sure to account for the stack height during installation. See below for details on which stack height applies to your situation.

    Side Guidance

For instructions on measuring side guidance, please check the Side Guidance tab.

    Before you start

To hang your blinds securely, use the right supplies for each type of surface:

    Surface Supplies
    Drywall Drywall anchors & screws
    Wood Screws
Stone / Concrete Anchors & screws

The blind inside the frame (recess or inside fit)

    1. Positioning the brackets

Place each bracket 7.5 cm from the corner of the frame. Screw them in tightly.

    - If you use more than 2 brackets, space them evenly.

    - Ensure the brackets don’t interfere with the mechanism or spool in the top box.

Now you’re ready to hang your blinds with ease!

    Hanging blinds inside the frame

    ⚠️ BUT BE CAREFUL!
Always check at the top of the box to ensure the bracket isn’t pressing on the control mechanism or spool. If it is, move the bracket slightly toward the center.

    2. Clicking in the brackets

Place the top box into the brackets. Close the scissor support until you hear a click—this means it’s secure.

    3. Attaching cord holders

If you like, you can attach cord holders. This step is optional.

Installing the outside of the frame (face or outside fit)

    1. Marking

Hold your blinds above the window and use a pencil to mark where the ends fall.

    2. Positioning the brackets

Place a bracket 7.5 cm from your pencil mark, keeping in mind the full height of your blinds.

    - If you’re using more than 2 brackets, space them out evenly.

    - You’ve got this!

    Hanging blinds outside the frame

    ⚠️ PAY ATTENTION
Always check at the top of the box to ensure the bracket isn’t pressing on the control mechanism or spool. If it is, move the bracket slightly toward the center.

    3. Securing the top box

Place the top box into the brackets. Close the scissor support until you hear a click—this means it’s secure.

    4. Attaching cord holders

If you like, you can attach cord holders. This step is optional.

    Side guidance

If your Mr. Jealousy blinds include side guidance, you’ll find 4 extra plastic supports and a guide wire in the box.

    • For a Face Fit (mounting on the frame), use the L-shaped supports.

    • For a Recess Fit (attaching against the glass bead or windowsill), use the smaller supports.

    Installing side guidance

    1. Place the cord

Put the metal guide cord into the top box of the blinds, keeping the spring centered. Thread the cord through the notch in the blinds.

    2. Placing the supports

Set the supports so the guide wire runs directly under the top box.

    3. Placing the locking ring

Slide the locking ring over the guide wire.

    4. Adjusting the locking ring

At the bracket’s height, tighten the locking ring while gently pulling the guide wire taut.

    5. Cutting the wire

Trim off any excess wire and firmly push the locking ring into the bracket.

    Mind the children

Loose cords can be dangerous for children, as they may get tangled or strangled. To keep your little ones safe, follow these instructions.

    • Keep cords out of reach: Ensure all loose cords are inaccessible to children.

    • Arrange furniture safely: Place beds, cribs, and other furniture away from windows with blinds.

    • Avoid tying cords: Do not tie cords together. Make sure there are no loops or tangles in the cords.

Remember: All our blinds come with a Child Safety system to enhance safety.

  • Slat Size.

The broader your slats, the more natural light can filter in, and you'll have a clearer view of the outside. Narrower slats are typically better suited for smaller windows.

For wooden blinds, we exclusively provide the 50mm slat width. It's the most popular and aesthetically pleasing size for wooden blinds, chosen by many.

  • Placement Face or Recess Fit

    Placement Recess Fit

When a blind is set up for Recess Fitting, it hangs between the walls or window frames. Typically, the sides are not visible in this setup, allowing for a more tailored and customized appearance.

    Placement Face Fit

In the case of Face Fitting, the blind hangs in front of the window frame, wall, or ceiling. Here, the sides of the blind are usually visible, offering a different aesthetic compared to Recess Fitting.

  • Ladder cord & tape.

    Ladder cords

When you opt for ladder cords, you have the choice of matching colors or black and white. Blinds with ladder cords offer a contemporary appearance and allow the most light to filter through.

    Ladder tape

Ladder tapes are decorative fabric strips with a 25mm width. They drape over the perforation holes, concealing them from view. We typically select the color that best matches your blinds by default, but you're welcome to opt for black or white if you prefer.

Selecting ladder tapes not only adds a decorative touch but also enhances light-blocking properties. Please note that ladder tapes are only available for blinds with a slat width of 50mm.

  • Control Side.

With our blinds, you can choose from different control sides. We explain here what the differences are and when to choose which option.

    Shared Control

In most cases, shared control is the best choice. This means that you lift on the left side and tilt on the right side. This works well for single windows.

    ⚠️ Note:
For blinds with a width under 500 mm, the controls are always separate.

    Shared Control

Control on the Left or Right

If you want to hang multiple blinds next to each other, then choose, for example, the control on the left or right side, so that there are no cords visible in front of the window.

Control on the Left or Right

Example of Two Windows Side by Side

If you have two windows next to each other, choose the control on the left side for the left window and on the right side for the right window.

Example of Three Windows Side by Side

If you have three windows next to each other, choose the control on the left side for the left window, shared control for the middle window, and control on the right side for the right window.

Control on the Left, Shared, and Right

    Tilting with Cord or Wand

For 50 mm blinds, both tilting and lifting are controlled with a cord. For 25 mm blinds, tilting is done with a transparent wand.

  • Top rail & bottom rail.

Blinds always have a top rail & bottom rail. In most cases this is the same color as the chosen slat color. However, there are a number of exceptions.

    Wooden blinds.

Wooden blinds always have the same top rail and bottom rail.

We always supply a cover strip and bottom rail in the chosen wood color and finish to your Mr. Jealousy. So there will be no color difference.

    Covering Strip
When it comes to the cover strip for face fitting, it wraps around the front and sides of the headrail, concealing it nicely. However, for recess fitting, it only covers the front of the headrail.

    Aluminum blinds.

As for aluminum blinds, they typically come with a top and bottom bar that matches the slat color. If that's not possible, we'll provide a shade that complements it well.

Don't fret; when you hang or pull down the blinds, the lighting will create a pleasing overall look.

If you think a black or white top bar and bottom bar would better suit your window frames or interior, you have that option too. The black top bar is available in Drop Black, and the white top bar is in Looks Like 9010.

      • Cutout for baseboards and obstacles

Are you going for blinds inside the frame that go all the way to the floor? Or is part of your frame tiled? In that case, your blinds might not fit or align perfectly in your frame.

        Uitsparing voor plint of obstakel

To fix this, you can add a cutout at the bottom of your blinds. This way, the lower part neatly fits between the baseboards or tiles. Nice and clean.

Simply enter the width and height of the baseboard, tile, or obstacle, and indicate whether it should be cut out on the left, right, or both sides.

        Questions

If you have any questions about cutouts at the bottom or measuring your blinds, feel free to reach out to us.

      • Side Guidance Keeps the Blind in Place.

All our blinds can be equipped with side guidance. Side guidance is particularly useful for doors or windows that can be opened, such as tilt-and-turn windows. But it's also handy in frames where windows are often left open. The blinds stay neatly in place when you open the window or in windy conditions. This is thanks to a tensioned steel wire along the sides of the blinds.

        General Side Guidance

In most cases, we recommend choosing 25 mm blinds for side guidance on tilt-and-turn windows. If you have enough space or want to secure the blinds in or on the frame, then 50 mm blinds are of course a great choice. However, make sure that your window can still turn smoothly.

Measuring face fit (on the moving window)

        1. Measure the width.

Measure from the inside handle to the outer edge of the frame.

        2. Measure the height.

Measure from the top of the frame to the bottom of the frame. You don't need to consider the package height.

        3. Enter these measurements.

The two measurements you've noted are needed. Enter them as dimensions - in millimeters - when ordering your Mr. Jealousy. These exact measurements will be produced by us.

Measuring recess fit (against the glass, between the glass beads)

        1. Measure the width.

Measure the width of the window. Subtract 10 mm from this. Make sure you have enough space/depth in the glass bead to mount your bracket.

        2. Measure the height.

Measure the height of the window. Subtract 10 mm from this.

        3. Enter these measurements.

The two measurements you've noted are needed. Enter them as dimensions - in millimeters - when ordering your Mr. Jealousy. These exact measurements will be produced by us.

        Mounting Side Guidance

If you've ordered the Mr. Jealousy's with side guidance, you'll find 4 extra plastic brackets in the box including a guide wire. The L-shaped brackets are intended for mounting on the frame, so 'on the day'. The smaller brackets are needed if you want to fix the blinds on the glass bead or windowsill, so 'inside the day'.

        Installing Side Guidance

        1. Place the cord.

Insert the metal guide cord into the top box of the blinds and keep the spring in the middle. Thread the cord through the notches on both sides of the blinds.

        2. Place the brackets.

Position the brackets so that the guide wire is directly below the top box.

        3. Place the locking ring.

Slide the locking ring onto the guide wire.

        4. Adjust the locking ring.

Tighten the locking ring at the height of the brackets while slightly tensioning the guide wire.

        5. Trim the wire.

Trim the excess wire and slide the locking ring into the brackets. If the wire feels a bit slack, adjust the locking ring until it feels tight enough.
